Elaine Treharne, FSA, FRHistS, FEA, is Roberta Bowman Denning Professor of Humanities and Professor of English at Stanford University, where she is also the Robert K. Packard University Fellow in Undergraduate Education, and Director of Stanford Text Technologies. She has published numerous books and articles, including Living Through Conquest: The Politics of Early English (OUP, 2012), and, shortly, the Cambridge Companion to British Medieval Manuscripts (ed. with Orietta Da Rold, CUP 2020). She principally researches the handmade book, digital technologies, and Early Medieval literature and textual culture. She is finishing The Phenomenal Book for publication in 2020.
