Jean Abbott is a senior doctoral candidate in English at Stanford University, where she is completing a dissertation on Names and Naming in Early England. She has also written on Beowulf, the Life of St Chad, on Richard Rolle, and on the Prayerbook of Elizabeth of York. She has been s a Digital Humanities Graduate Fellow at Stanford’s Center for Spatial and Textual Analysis; a Preparing Future Professors Fellow at Stanford and San José State Universities; and an NEH Fellow in the “Teaching Beowulf” Humanities Summer Institute.
