Robert Craig Baum is the author of Itself (Atropos Press, 2011) which Avital Ronell described as “a dense, difficult, and feisty takedown of key philosophical concepts that define our modernity and beleaguer ethical certitudes.” Baum received his BA in Philosophy from The Catholic University of America, MALS from Dartmouth College, and PhD from the European Graduate School. He is a professor, administrator, playwright, composer, producer, and a board member of the Main Street Museum. His upcoming works of mourning include The One to Come (Heidegger, National Socialism, and existenz-philosophie), What Remains (a philosophical memoir disclosing the “life gives” or Ereignis potentiality of suicide), A Naughty Night to Swim In (fifteen short memoirs narrating/medicating battles with madness), and Smile (a slipstream novel combining his love of Clive Barker, C.S. Lewis, Herman Melville, and Kurt Vonnegut). He lives in New York with his wife and four boys.
