With degrees in history and literature, Kathleen E. Kennedy has written scholarly books about literature and the law, medieval manuscript art, and hacker culture (Medieval Hackers, published by punctum in 2015). She also writes for public venues such as Vice.com, TheMarySue.com, and Atlas Obscura. She’s increasingly convinced that material culture, that is, stuff – from coconuts to coral and pomegranates to parrots – offers a prime way to demonstrate that everyone has a stake in medieval history.
